Support Staff

Director of Administration Mike Borka Mike Borka has served as the church accountant since 2006 and joined the staff full time in 2008 as Director of Administration. As administrative staff, we attempt to do all we can to free your Pastors to devote their full time and efforts to prayer, teaching the Word and to your care. Mike has been a Certified Public Accountant for 20 years, with an extensive background in corporate finance and accounting, and has held several executive level positions. He holds a BBA and Masters of Accounting degrees from Florida Atlantic University. He and his wife Jacki were married in 1979. They and their two children, Aaron and Ariel, first came to First Assembly in 2003 and have served in several ministries.
Janie Shankle Janie joined the administrative staff in October 2007 after serving for 14 years in Mpact Girls Ministry. She serves as Executive Assistant to Senior Pastor Chad Harvey and Administrative Assistant to Associate Pastor Danny Collins and Missions Pastor Mark Jones. Janie holds a associates degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors degree in Psychology. She and her family began attending First Assembly in 2004 after relocating to the Raleigh area from Texas. I am honored that God will use me to meet the needs of the church body, staff, and pastors. Janie is married to Bob and they have three children, Lacey, Christopher and Hannah.

Michelle Jarvis Michelle joined the administrative staff in March 2008 and serves as Administrative Assistant to Associate Pastor, Chris Connell and Small Groups Pastor, Dick Van Cleave. Michelle Jarvis is a native Midwesterner and relocated to North Carolina in 1995. Michelle has been attending First Assembly since 2001.

Chelsea Vegter Chelsea joined the administrative staff in June 2009 and serves as administrative assistant to Children’s Pastor Jeff McIntosh.

Paul Fleming Paul is the Facilities Coordinator for First Assembly and has been on staff since 1996. His responsibilities include the care, maintenance & improvement of the facilities. God has gifted Paul in the area of construction & building and his role at First Assembly allows him a way to give it back in return for the work of the Lord.

Karen Damron Karen began attending First Assembly in 1989 when she moved here from Montreal, Canada. She has been working as Bookkeeper since 1993. She is now attending Family Worship Assembly and is on the Praise and Worship Team and also the Women's Ministry leader. She loves living for Christ and listening to His Call on her life.
