![]() Following are a few of the ministries we have for our local community. We need YOU to get involved to make an impact on Raleigh. Contact outreach@raleighfirst.org for more information.
Ship of Zion Community Day
Our church has formed an active and long term partnership (financial support and sending people) with the Ship of Zion church and its pastors, Chris and Jacqueline Jones, at 924 South Blount Street in south Raleigh. We meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 924 ½ S. Blount Street, from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm, “meeting the needs” of hundreds of our neighbors in Southeast Raleigh. Numerous opportunities to serve by giving away boxes of food, helping prepare and serve a free lunch, conducting health screenings by nurses, praying for people 1-on-1 and walking the inner city streets ministering to people. Contact: Paul Moseley at 779-3143.
TeenWorks
TeenWorks provides a source of positive and consistent alternatives and support for early teens (12–15 years old) in Wake County Foster Care. Our goal is for the teens to develop a hope for their future – putting them on a different path for the rest of their lives (Jer. 29:11). We meet monthly on Saturdays – alternating between ‘Action Days’ and ‘Choice Days’. Contact: Bill & Wendy Woodworth at 467-3873. Royal Family Kid’s Camp of Wake County
Royal Family Kids’ Camp is a ministry to abused and neglected children in the Wake County foster care system. The week-long summer camp is planned for the purpose of creating positive memories for 7-11 year old children. Many adults are invested in this ministry to make a difference in the lives of children who face
difficult circumstances.
Camp for 2009 was held July 19-24. Opportunities to help included becoming a prayer partner, helping with camp preparations, contributing camp supplies, giving financial resources, or attending camp as a counselor or staff. Won’t you make a difference in the life of a child? Contact: Kathie Thompson 288-3439.
