The Santmyires   Aaron, Heather, Isabelle and Josiah

Report from the field:

The Santmyires began their missionary career in August 2003 in Albertville, France at language school. Upon completion of their language classes, the Santmyires relocated to Ouagadogou, Burkina Faso.

There, the Santmyires ministered the love of Christ through HIV/AIDS prevention education and HIV testing.

The Santmyires moved to Madagascar in July 2007. Aaron, who completed his Masters in Nursing during 2006 becoming a Nurse Practioner, has a mobile medical clinic. Through this clinic, he is able to share the good news of Jesus Christ through the meeting of the physical needs of the poor of Antananarivo and throughout the island nation.

He also teaches a health class at the Assemblies of God Bible school in Antananarivo. Heather teaches English to pastors and their wives. Aaron and Heather also oversee an orphanage of 35 children, ranging from four years old to 16 years old.

Madagascar is twice the size of Arizona with a population of 20 million people with 52% practicing the Malagasy folk religion, 41% Christianity compromised with folk beliefs, veneration of ancestral spirits and witchcraft, and 7% Islam. The official languages are Standard Malagasy and French.
